Pastor Sean Martin

In 2019, Sean joined the PV staff as pastor and elder. He has been married to Jill for 25 years and they have 10 children and 1 granddaughter.
​Sean loves figs and grows several different varieties.

Troy Baker

Troy started attending PV in 2011. He has been married to Jana for 34 years and they have 2 daughters and 3 grandsons; Hudson, Oliver, and Asher. Troy became an elder in 2021.  
Fun fact: Troy's childhood interest and then teenage career goal was to become a cowboy. He currently lives on a sprawling 2 acre ranch with 1 whole head of cattle and no horses (no room for both).

Rick Oswalt

Rick and Brenda have been married since 1987. They have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. Rick came to PV in 2002 and has been an elder since 2007. Rick loves to sing and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone who has a need.

Jon Lavy

 Jon met his wife, Stacey, of 22 years in 1999 and have three boys; Levi, 18; Aaron, 17; Eli, 13. They live in Greenville and have attended Pleasant View since 2001.  For nearly 20 years he has served in different areas at PV. In Children’s Ministry, he taught Pre-K, 4th grade Sunday School, and Awana. He is currently helping with the Youth during Sunday School, he's a sound tech, he helps with the Youth worship team, and he attends a men’s bible study on Wednesday nights.

Dan Hicks

Tim Studebaker​

Tim and Angela have been married for 35 years. They have two children (Matthew & Ashley) and four grandchildren. Tim has served as Sunday School teacher, youth leader, quizzing program leader, AWANA leader, community outreach leader, and more. Tim enjoys watching the Pittsburg Steelers and spending time his family and friends. 

Pleasant View Missionary Church Elders Responsibilities

  • Serve as under-shepherds (under Christ). John 10:16, Colossians 1:18, 1Peter 2-5, Hebrews 4:14. Ability to receive instruction from Christ
  • Lead a life of prayer. Willingness to give extra time to pray alone, with other overseers, and with the pastors.
  • Carry out restoration. Galatians 6:1-2, Going to sinning, lax Christians and lovingly confront as needed.
  • Prepare other people to serve. 2Timothy 2:2. Giving time to a mentoring process in order to train future leadership/overseers.
  • Be a "steward" (oversees) the flock. 1Peter 5:1-2. Committed to Biblical standards and directives; committed to helping by example and testimony; and assisting the congregation to live under the Lordship of Christ. Clarifying as needed: church doctrines, practices and church policies.
  • Select a Pastor. Appoint the Pastoral Search Committee with an elder representative being the chairperson.
  • Complete the annual evaluation of pastoral staff.
